11 kids filled with the Holy Ghost - Service with Bro. Marks

Preliminaries
This Sunday we had another unbelievable outpouring of the Holy Ghost in our Sunday school.  We had a service scheduled with Bro. Cody Marks again and we had all of our classes from the age of 5 years old and up together for the special Sunday.

In preparation for this, about a week ago, one of our bus workers sent me a text saying that they felt something special for this service.  We talked to the bus workers and requested that they be in special prayer and if possible take a day to fast as we wanted to see God have His perfect way.  And these efforts were in no way wasted as God came down in one of the most beautiful and special ways I have ever been privileged to witness.

It started out rather innocuous with our silly songs and games and when Bro. Marks took the microphone there was still no inkling of what was to come.  He explained what the Holy Ghost was and spoke briefly about the experience and how life changing it could be, ending with a simple request.  He said that if you had never had the Holy Ghost but wanted it, to come up to the front and make a line all across the altar.

Kids lined up across the front
At first there was some resistance with no one wanting to be the first forward but one at a time they began to trickle forward and then more and more until soon the entire front of the sanctuary was full of young people.

He explained repentance and as a group we all repented together and then we began to pray.
Initially, while there were many praying and several crying no one was getting the
Holy Ghost.  Finally, Markel, one of our bus kids began to speak in tongues and that was the beginning of what became an unbelievable move of God.

By the time it was over there were 11 kids that had never received it previously, gloriously filled with the Holy Ghost.  Several of them had incredibly deep experiences, speaking in tongues for 20-30 minutes.  Everywhere you looked there were groups of kids gathered together praying.  Our church kids and bus workers were as deeply affected as anyone else there and I saw several young people that hadn’t broken for a long time, praying beautifully in the altar.

The altar call lingered on and on and had it not been for the need to get the bus kids back home before their parents panicked, it easily could have lasted for hours.  It was one of the deepest moves of the Holy Ghost in a children’s church I have ever been a part of but one I deeply desire to repeat on a regular basis.

Thank you Jesus for your blessings and for what you did for us!  We give you all the glory and can only pray for another such touch in the future.
