The T-Shirts

The Holy Ghost riders have been wearing their uniform t-shirts for a while now but it still exciting to see them all come into church after the buses come back from dropping off all of the kids.  Many times a couple of rows of painfully bright orange shirts are to be seen in the back.

The idea behind these shirts are to allow us to be recognized at a distance so the people we meet will over time begin to know who we are and what we stand for.

There have been a few imposters though that have tried to sneak by... like little Samuel Blair.

Rolling out the red carpet!

We had seen reports of an exciting bus ministry that literally rolled out the red carpet for their bus kids and we LOVED the idea and had to imitate it. I had initially asked Sis. Alexandria Pierce to head up the greeting team and she did a GREAT job of it. She with the help of several others setup a team to welcome the kids as they exited the bus and to get them to their proper classrooms. They also help to facilitate the return of the kids to the appropriate bus (now more difficult as we add buses).

Alex looked around and found a place that sells red carpets and it turned out to be the same place that makes them for the Grammy's and other high-profile events. They gave us a great deal on a carpet and we unveiled it a few weeks away with great success. Here are some pictures of the event. The kids' reactions were priceless. Some were embarrassed to walk on it while others strutted up it like they had been waiting their whole lives for this type of attention. It was fantastic!

Balloon Twisting!

In an effort to make our bus ministry as exciting as possible we have tried to learn several "kid-friendly" skills.  I personally have done my best to learn animal balloon twisting.  The kids appear to really like them and I am including several pictures of them we have done.
